Hi Solitaire,

first off, welcome to the board :) I hope you have fun reading and posting. Let me list the Spitzes that come to my mind:

Finnish Spitz, Norwegian Elkhound, Shiba Inu, American Eskimodog, Keeshond, Pomeranian, Schipperke (I'm not so sure about this one. :oops:) I'm sure there are more, but those are the ones that I came up with, without the use of Google. :lol:

The NEAA, Norwegian Elkhound Association of America, has some good info on the breed, and the rescue site has great pics!

im sure you wanted to know this :roll: but it is what my book says oh and there are a few breeds like the Schipperke and the mudi that they say look like spitz and could possibly be but are not as far as they know.

oh and (only for german spitz) they are lively, alert, robust dogs. by nature is calm and independent. forms stron bond w/ owner and makes an affectionate though sometimes jelous pet. courageous, vigilant, and wary of strangers, the wolfspitz in particular is a good guard dog. spitz can be agressive twards other dogs.
