Does Pantene Pro-V Test on Animals?

OKay, I don't buy anything that's luxery unless it's labled as not tested on Animals. (Note Courtnek: I said luxeries  Anything medical related I try to turn a blind eye to the animal testing because while I don't like it, know it is necisary and without it many people, including yourself wouldn't be here today  )
SO, I've used Pantene Pro V a lot when I was younger, I now use a new shampoo called... umm... TrEseme (or something liek that), which says on it that it's not tested on animals. Well, I was reading the back of the Pantene Pro V bottle in the shower this morning (My sister left them there) and didn't see anything about not testing their product on animals. I asked my mom about it and she said a big company like that probably doesn't. But then again, look at IAMS... And if they don't test aren't they supose to put that on the bottle? So not having it there makes me asume they do :( Just wondering if anyone knows anymore info on this?
Thanks!

Well, it took quite a bit of diggin, but I found their animal testing policy statement, and according to it, they do not do animal testing on shampoo's, and quite a few other things.

here;s the link

then go to the bottom left and choose "download a report", then "animal alternatives"

They also say in their policy statement that they are looking for alternative methods for testing for people-safe products and pharmeceuticals. P&G does own Pantene.

Shara, thank you for thinking of me, but not to worry. I dont like it either, but it would be kinda hypocritical to protest wouldnt it?

If there was some other way to do it, and I found out they were using animals because, let's say, it was cheaper, I would be right out in front doing a lot of yelling too.

P&G recently stated they "will no longer conduct tests on existing products", but every time they come out with a new one, it's still tested.

one thing to think about: P&G spend many times as much money on ad campaigns for all their products every year than they spend on researching alternatives for animal testing.

personally i believe in giving my money to companies who are honest, trustworthy and make quality products that are not tested on animals.

for 3 years i've been using aveda hair care products and i will never go back to the crappy stuff like panthene and other garbage. yeah, so aveda is a little more expensive, but just like with quality dog food brands, you pay for better ingredients and you have to use less. a one-liter bottle of aveda shampoo costs around $22 and lasts me about 4-5 months. i have long, extremely fine hair that is a pain to deal with, and i'm really pleased with the results.

I think I'll stick to the shampoo I have right now, I have no complaints and actually like it better then Pantene, was just curious
