Queen Bitch Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 Does anyone else here have one? My dog, Conar, is a mutantly large Samoyed. He comes up to about my waist (I'm 5ft 1in) and weighs about 95 pounds. He gets mistaken for a Great Pyrenes a lot, but is a purebred sammy. He also doesn't really act like a "typical sammy", he doesn't roam or dig. I guess instead of being the runt of the litter he was the giant. Quote
yellowlabsrule Posted January 7, 2003 Posted January 7, 2003 No samoyed, but a lab and hopefully soon a Dal!!! :D :D :D Quote
Queen Bitch Posted January 7, 2003 Author Posted January 7, 2003 Alas, no I can't. :-? Yay dal! Quote
Shannon_C Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 awww Samoyed, smiling breed :D .....absolutely adorable would love one. Hillside do you have a photo ? E-mail it to me if you could and I will post the link here. Quote
mouseatthebusstop Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 beautiful breed :) I would love to see a picture Quote
behle Posted February 23, 2003 Posted February 23, 2003 My grandparents had a samoyed years ago. He was a beautiful, happy fellow. They are so fetching with all that snowy white fur and jet black shiny eyes! He did suffer in the summer heat though, because my Grandpa didn't believe in air conditioning! Even in Michigan we get hot, muggy weather. I'd love to see a picture.... :) Quote
Queen Bitch Posted February 25, 2003 Author Posted February 25, 2003 My mother just got a new digital camera, so the next time I see Conar I'll make sure to snap his picture, perhaps with me next to him to show how mutantly huge he is. Quote
bk_blue Posted February 25, 2003 Posted February 25, 2003 My dad's ex-gf's housemate had 2 Samoyeds ( i think), I have a photo somewhere so when I get to use the scanner I'll scan it. They were called Apricot and Coconut. Lovely dogs. :D Quote
Shannon_C Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Awww BK, those are lovely names. Apricot and Coconut! I like all the colours. biscuit is a nice one! Quote
bk_blue Posted February 26, 2003 Posted February 26, 2003 Yeah I think Apricot was that biscuit colour, hence her name. And in another weird six degrees of separation type thing, dad's ex-gf's housemate was my mother's boyfriend's ex-wife's ex-bf... now does that make sense... thought not :drinking: Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 31, 2003 Posted August 31, 2003 My boss has raised and showed sammys for about 15 years now. They are the neatest dogs! She brings them to the office all the time, to socialise them. They all real "people" dogs. She does local rescue and finds them good homes across the state(texas). She went this weekend to get a three year old, but I think it's a show dog and she is keep this one herself. The biggest one that she has had was about 70 lbs. Yours sounds like a "BIG BOY" and a real sweet heart. I would love to see a picture. Shell http://f2.pg.photos.yahoo.com/mds5562000 Quote
